Motion Designer

We are looking for a Motion Designer to join our agency team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will bring brands to life through motion, animation and dynamic storytelling across digital platforms. You will work closely with designers, strategists and project managers to translate concepts into engaging motion content that strengthens brand expression and enhances customer experiences.
You are confident turning static ideas into moving narratives, understand timing, rhythm and composition, and know how motion supports brand systems. You are comfortable working with modern motion workflows, including AI-supported tools, as a natural part of ideation, prototyping and refinement.
What you will do
  • Design and produce motion content for brand, campaign and digital projects
  • Translate creative concepts and visual identities into motion systems and animations
  • Create animations for social media, websites, presentations and digital experiences
  • Collaborate closely with designers and strategists to ensure strong concept-to-motion alignment
  • Develop motion guidelines and reusable animation elements where relevant
  • Apply AI tools to support ideation, storyboarding and motion exploration
  • Ensure consistency, quality and timing across all motion deliverables
  • Contribute to agency workflows and creative processes
What you bring
  • A degree in motion design, animation, graphic design or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 2–5 years of experience as a motion designer, preferably within a creative or branding agency
  • Strong skills in After Effects and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Experience with Figma (for collaboration and handover)
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating motion craft, storytelling and brand application
  • Solid understanding of typography, composition, timing and pacing
  • Interest or experience in working with AI-assisted motion or creative tools
  • An organised way of working and the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
    Proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus)
